Nokia-N8

Nokia's reputation as a leader in the smartphone market has been under increasing pressure in recent years, as a string of 'high end' handsets have failed to capture the minds and wallets of the phone-buying public.
So Nokia decided to come with a revolutionary product N8 which nokia thinks that it is revolutionary.
  • N8 is a smart phone which has got great looks,
  • Which comes in varied colors, has an AMOLED screen,
  • Capacitive touchscreen(which is too common for other companies bt a special feature for nokia considering their previous touch screens),
  • Boasts 12mp camera,720p video recording,
  • HDMI output(which ables you to connect your phone to HD TV'S on the fly),
  • USB on the go,directly transfer the usb pen drive contents to your phone without the help of pc's.
  • Gorilla screen (unscratchable screen),
  • New os symbian^3,
  • Internal memory of 16gb

So features look great you must be already thinking about buying the phone adjusting your budget,Wait S,the phone looks gr8,it is a best phone on paper, according to hardware specs it is the best phone in the market out there.
So how is it out of the box??here comes the real problem.
  • The Nokia N8 ships a single speaker, there is no stereo sounds when use speaker.
  • When suffered from crash, it takes a long time to restart. Even, because of the battery design of Nokia N8, it's hard to remove the battery to restart it.
  • You can't delete the phone call records One by one, if you do, you have to delete all.
  • The battery is not durable, and can not bring one more battery backup. It's not a best choice for business people
  • The biggest of all symbian os,its looks gr8 when compared alone, but it stands nowhere in comparison with android and ios.

Conclusion:If you believe in hardware and think that you are ok with any kind of software N8 is the best out in the market but if you are smart and believe that software is a thing that pleasures you give it a miss and buy samsung galaxy s or iphone.

Nikon D3100-DSLR

Are u an amateur photographer?? do u like to take pics of your friends, nature etc?? Do you like hd video recording?? If yes then its the time to turn your amateur photography into semi professional..Here is the way

Nikon has developed a habit of making very attractive entry-level DSLRs, which are rarely the best specified but cleverly designed so that they're easy and enjoyable to shoot with. The D3000 fitted this pattern perfectly, a gentle refresh of the D60 (which was itself a slightly updated D40X), it added ease-of-use features to make it a pleasant little camera to use, despite a specification that was beginning to look rather out-of-step with the rest of the market.

The D3100 is built around a 14.2 megapixel CMOS sensor, bringing not only live view but also Full HD video capture to Nikon's entry-level model for the first time. In fact, this made it the first Nikon DSLR to offer 1920x1080 movie recording. It can only record clips up to about ten minutes long (due to a 4Gb maximum file size limitation shared by all DSLRs), but this still counts as an impressive feature addition at this level.

All of this adds up to a DSLR that incorporates all of 2010's 'must have' features but looks like the product of evolution, rather than dramatic innovation. And 2010 has been a year during which the rest of the market hasn't devloped along such predictable lines, not least during the expansion of the large sensor, mirrorless interchangable lens camera crowd.
Camera makers always try to stress that mirrorless cameras are creating an entirely new market, rather than competing with entry-level DSLRs, but it's pretty clear that many people planning to upgrade from their point-and-shoot compact will consider both types of camera when making their decision. So, while the D3100 is unequivocally a DSLR (in a time where the line between DSLRs and mirrorless cameras is becoming increasingly hazy), its beginner-friendly guide mode puts it squarely in competition with several of the mirrorless models that are equally eager to welcome point-and-shoot upgraders.

Many of these cameras, such as Sony's NEX-3 and 5, Olympus' E-PL1 and Panasonic's GF2, offer similarly accessible interfaces in a smaller, competitively-priced packages. They also, by eshewing the conventional DSLR design, are able to offer a shooting experience that is much closer to that of a compact camera - which even the best DSLR live view implementation can't easily mimic at the moment.
So, while the D3100 offers an improved feature set when compared to a camera we really liked, it remains to be seen whether these additions will be enough to make it stand out as well as its predecessor did.

Sony ericsson xperia play

So guys, are u bored of playing angry birds, cut the rope etc.. medium graphics games on your phone???
Here is the future of mobile gaming.First play station certified gaming phone!!!  Future looks bright.
   Android+Play station =Super combination
   wt else do you need??

After a series of leaks, sneak previews and shameless reviews, Sony Ericsson's "best kept secret" gaming phone - Xperia Play is now officially launched. Sony Ericsson has introduced it with glam and glitters at the Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona. New Xperia Play is evidentally the first PlayStation certified smartphone that runs Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. Packing a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, the Xperia Play smartphone will be able access the PlayStation game content provided through PlayStation Suite an initiative to port PlayStation content, develop and certify content to Android based portable devices.

Sony Ericsson's Xperia Play might not sound new to you. This smartphone has 4-inch capacitive multi-touch display that supports FWVGA 480x854 pixel resolution. Xperia PLAY s display slides out to reveal the action buttons, Directional Pad, Touch Pad and selection buttons. The phone also has two shoulder buttons. In short, the flat panel when slided out works as PlayStation controller. The corners are rounded.

Under the chassis, the Xperia Play has 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with Adreno 205 GPU. This smartphone will come preloaded with Android 2.3 Gingerbread which will carry the TimeScape UI on top of it. Sony promises basic 3D gameplay at 60 frames per second on the smartphone. The company has promised to launch 50 new game titles from 20 different content publishers were shown. The entire library of classics would be rolled out on weekly basis.

However, we are a bit disappointed with the imaging powered by a mere 5.1-megapixel camera with autofocus which hopefully records 720p HD video by default. Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor, and Digital Compass. Since it runs Gingerbread, you'll be able turn Xperia Play into a mobile hotspot for connecting up to 5 Wi-Fi devices.

Xperia Play would be introduced in GSM and CDMA versions for select markets. For GSM networks, Xperia Play will support Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and quad-band UMTS HSPA for faster and better telephony.

Just like the other Xperia models, Play would be available in Black and White color options.

Sony Ericsson's Xperia Play would be available in select markets from next month March. Pricing of the smartphone wasn't revealed at the launch. Whenever it hits the Indian shores, I presume it might be made available at a premium price above/around Rs. 30,000.

So guys which is the game you just can't wait to play on this

smart device??

Android 2.2(Froyo) for Samsung Galaxy 3

S u have samsung galaxy 3,S u were promised that u would get 2.2 froyo update for ur mobile when u had bought it,S u are bored of 2.1 eclair,S u are patiently waiting for samsung to release 2.2 through kies.
Just stop cursing yourself and update to 2.2 instantly on the fly just read this post..

HOW TO : Install ANDROID 2.2 (FROYO) on your Samsung GT-i5800/5801

UPDATE : FOR THE LATEST STABLE FROYO (I5800 XXJPF) VISIT
FROYO 2.2 I5800 XXJPF (Click here)

Well, you have waited enough for the FROYO 2.2 (official) update for your gt i5800/5801, here's a simple and easy way to do it right.

THINGS you gonna need :

1. Your Samsung GT i5800/5801.
2. ODIN v4.252 (Download here)
3. OPS file [Its basically a partition file] (Download here)
4. And ultimately the 2.2 FROYO firmware (Download here)
When you extract the firmware file its going to ask for a password, use this 'samfirmware.com'.
                                                                                                                     (without the quotes)
5. A PC and a micro USB data cable (preferably the provided samsung data cable) to connect.

THE Process :

Your first step would be to BACK UP ALL YOUR DATA AND APPS. Was i loud enough....okay..
You can export your contacts to your sd card and for your apps there's a niffty app called 'appmonster', which you can download from the market and backup all your apps including the market.apk to your sd and restore later.
And yeah also make sure your phone is fully charged.
By the way doing this DOES NOT void your warranty.

The process that worked for me is that i upgraded my firmware first and then factory reseted the device and its running flawlessly, but you can factory reset before upgrading too.

1. Download all the files above.

2. Extract the 2.2 firmware file to get a .tar file.

3.Now open ODIN and select the OPS file that you downloaded, then click the checkbox 'One Package' and at the bottom select the .tar file that you just extracted. Now close ODIN.

4. This is where the actual thing begins so be careful.

Power off your phone and remove the battery, reinsert the battery then connect the data cable and connect it to the PC.

5. Fire up ODIN again and recheck the settings as you put earlier and then do the following on your phone

  • Press the following buttons together
  • Home + Menu + Volume + Power
(it could be volume up / volume down / volume up+down , So, try all three) untill you see something like this..
Once you get this screen, ODIN will say that your phone is connected in some COM Port.
Now just click on the START button and your phone will be updated with 2.2 FROYO.
Have a blast with froyo and its neat new features.....ENJOY!!!
Note: Do it on your own risk..take risk

Android 2.0/2.1 (Eclair)
Android 2.2 (Froyo)
Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) latest on offer for smart phones
Android 3.0(Honeycomb) exclusively for tablets.

Android is a mobile operating system running on the Linux kernel. It was initially developed by Google and later the Open Handset Alliance. It allows developers to write managed code in the Java language, controlling the device via Google-developed Java libraries.

The unveiling of the Android platform on 5 November 2007 was announced with the founding of the Open Handset Alliance, a consortium of 48 hardware, software, and telecom companies devoted to advancing open standards for mobile devices. Google released most of the Android code under the Apache License, a free software and open source license.

History
Android at Googleplex.

In July 2005, Google acquired Android, Inc., a small startup company based in Palo Alto, California, USA.[8] Android's co-founders who went to work at Google included Andy Rubin (co-founder of Danger[9]), Rich Miner (co-founder of Wildfire Communications, Inc.[10]), Nick Sears (once VP at T-Mobile[11]), and Chris White (headed design and interface development at WebTV[12]). At the time, little was known about the functions of Android, Inc. other than that they made software for mobile phones.[8] This began rumors that Google was planning to enter the mobile phone market, although it was unclear what function it might perform in that market.[citation needed]

At Google, the team led by Rubin developed a mobile device platform powered by the Linux kernel which they marketed to handset makers and carriers on the premise of providing a flexible, upgradeable system.[citation needed] It was reported that Google had already lined up a series of hardware component and software partners and signaled to carriers that it was open to various degrees of cooperation on their part.[13][14][15] More speculation that Google would be entering the mobile-phone market came in December 2006.[16] Reports from the BBC and The Wall Street Journal noted that Google wanted its search and applications on mobile phones and it was working hard to deliver that. Print and online media outlets soon reported rumors that Google was developing a Google-branded handset.[17] More speculation followed reporting that as Google was defining technical specifications, it was showing prototypes to cell phone manufacturers and network operators. As many as 30 prototype phones were reported to be operating "in the wild."[18]

In September 2007, InformationWeek covered an Evalueserve study reporting that Google had filed several patent applications in the area of mobile telephony.[19][20]
[edit] Open Handset Alliance
Main article: Open Handset Alliance
"Today's announcement is more ambitious than any single 'Google Phone' that the press has been speculating about over the past few weeks. Our vision is that the powerful platform we're unveiling will power thousands of different phone models."
—-Eric Schmidt, Google Chairman/CEO[3]

On 5 November 2007, the Open Handset Alliance, a consortium of several companies which include Texas Instruments, Broadcom Corporation, Google, HTC, Intel, LG, Marvell Technology Group, Motorola, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Samsung Electronics, Sprint Nextel and T-Mobile was unveiled with the goal to develop open standards for mobile devices.[3] Along with the formation of the Open Handset Alliance, the OHA also unveiled their first product, Android, a mobile device platform built on the Linux kernel version 2.6.[3]

On 9 December 2008, it was announced that 14 new members would be joining the Android project including: ARM Holdings Plc, Atheros Communications, Asustek Computer Inc, Garmin Ltd, Softbank, Sony Ericsson, Toshiba Corp, and Vodafone Group Plc.[21][22]

Google Chairman and CEO Eric Schmidt took some time in the official press release to dispel all previous rumors and speculation about the existence of a stand-alone Google phone.[3]
[edit] Licensing

Since 21 October 2008, Android has been available as open source. Google opened the entire source code (including network and telephony stacks[23]) under an Apache License.[24]

With the Apache License, vendors are free to add proprietary extensions without submitting those back to the open source community.

Android had been criticized for not being all open-source software despite what was announced by Google. Parts of the SDK are proprietary and closed source.[25][26] The Android Software Development Kit License Agreement[27] states that:

3.2 You agree that Google or third parties own all legal right, title and interest in and to the SDK, including any Intellectual Property Rights that subsist in the SDK. "Intellectual Property Rights" means any and all rights under patent law, copyright law, trade secret law, trademark law, and any and all other proprietary rights. Google reserves all rights not expressly granted to you.

3.3 Except to the extent required by applicable third party licenses, you may not copy (except for backup purposes), modify, adapt, redistribute, decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or create derivative works of the SDK or any part of the SDK. Except to the extent required by applicable third party licenses, you may not load any part of the SDK onto a mobile handset or any other hardware device except a personal computer, combine any part of the SDK with other software, or distribute any software or device incorporating a part of the SDK.

If you are pretending to be a android fan 5 lines must be more than enough but if you are a real contender then go through full post.
